API-driven solutions
OneOrigin partnered with Arizona State University, one of America’s leading public research universities with advanced learning and support systems, to provide cloud computing services using AWS.
Challenge
- ASU systems required their solutions to be serverless, scalable, and resilient. More API-driven solutions than complex point-point API integrations.
- Requires quicker response times in the REST APIs and provides caching mechanisms wherever necessary.
- Required an alerting system to keep track of the amount of money spent on different AWS services.
- Required an automated service to tag all the data imported from BigData according to ASU standards.
Solution
OneOrigin handles the majority of the DevOps work for ASU. OneOrigin developed several applications using serverless architecture, which is platform-agnostic and deployed solutions to serverless models. We focus on event-driven architecture to allow multiple subscribers to take advantage of the systems developed in AWS. And build API hubs using REST architecture, and apply best practices to improve the performance of the APIs by a considerable margin.
OneOrigin developed an automation process to sync the incoming data from Google Cloud with the ASU tagging standards.
OneOrigin developed the billing alert system to send an alert or slack notification whenever billing crosses a threshold value.
Result
- A platform-agnostic approach toward application development provided seamless migration between multiple cloud providers.
- Data sync is streamlined with ASU standards.
- Improved alerting and notification systems helped ASU to take necessary measures in cutting down costs wherever required.
